Terms of use.
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms explain how you can use our website and the seer. platform. Please read them with our Privacy policy.
Who we are
These terms are between you and Seer Consult Ltd, trading as “seer.” (“we”, “us”). We are registered in England & Wales, company number 14578376, with our registered office at 272 Goldington Road, Bedford, MK40 3EF, England.
They cover our website, seerconsult.com, and the seer. platform. By using either, you agree to them. If you use the platform for an organisation, you agree to them on its behalf.
Accounts
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep access to your account secure, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- You're responsible for the people you invite into your organisation and what they do there.
- We verify organisations using the information you give us and public records such as Companies House. Verification doesn't guarantee a company's status, standing or identity.
Plans and limits
Every organisation starts on the Free plan.
The Free plan includes:
- one site;
- ledger entries for one reporting year, your last complete financial year;
- entering data by hand or importing our workbook;
- your footprint and carbon report;
- a draft Carbon Reduction Plan;
- 5 bills read by AI, once an owner has accepted our Data processing terms.
The Free plan doesn't include having entries checked by a second person, a director's sign-off, or Carbon Reduction Plan files without the draft label. A draft is not signed and is not for submission with a bid.
A paid plan removes those limits, except that bills read by AI are limited to 200 a calendar month for each organisation, unless we agree a higher limit with you. We switch it on for your organisation once we've agreed it with you, and it runs for 12 months from that date. We don't take card payments in the platform.
Software prices are on our Prices page. They depend on the number of people who work for your company when the plan starts or renews, not on how many use the platform: every plan includes unlimited users. Prices exclude VAT. We confirm yours in writing before we start.
If you buy our Carbon Reduction Plan service, it includes 12 months of the platform. After that, continuing on a paid plan costs the Self-serve price for your company's size.
We'll email owners at least 30 days before a paid plan ends, with the price to renew. If you don't renew, your organisation goes back to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: what you've recorded stays readable, and plans already signed stay signed with their files available. You can't add beyond the Free limits. Owners can still download all of the organisation's data from Settings → Export.
We may change what the Free plan includes. If a change reduces it, we'll email owners at least 30 days before.
If your organisation has never had a paid plan and has never signed a plan, and nobody in it has signed in or used it for 12 months, we'll email its owners. If nobody signs in during the 30 days after that email, we delete the organisation's data, as our Privacy policy describes.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the website or platform for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
- try to access another organisation's data, or get round our security or access controls;
- upload malware or anything designed to harm the service or other users;
- upload data you don't have the right to share;
- upload anything through bill reading other than your organisation's bills.
Your data
You own the data you upload. You give us permission to store and process it only so we can provide the service to you.
For that data we act as your processor: we only process it on your instructions, keep it confidential and secure, and use the service providers listed in our Privacy policy. How we handle personal data is explained in that policy. The full terms on which we process it for your organisation are our Data processing terms, which form part of these terms.
Bill reading is off until an owner of your organisation accepts the Data processing terms, or your organisation signs a data processing agreement with us. Once it's on, you instruct us to send the bills you upload to Google Cloud, which reads them for us in London, UK, as described in our Privacy policy. The values it proposes can be wrong. You are responsible for checking each one before you confirm it.
Information your suppliers share with you. If you use seer. to view information your suppliers share with you, you may use it only to assess and manage your own supply chain and procurement. You must not disclose it outside your organisation and your professional advisers, except where the law requires or the supplier agrees.
Our intellectual property
The website, the platform, and our content, software and design remain our intellectual property. You may use them to run your organisation's work while you have access, but you may not copy, resell or reverse engineer them.
Consultancy services
Consultancy work, such as projects and retainers, is covered by a separate written agreement or statement of work. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement takes priority.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service reliable, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features as the service develops. Bill reading depends on Google's service being available in London. If it stops being available there, we'll switch bill reading off rather than send bills anywhere else.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can't be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise:
- we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100 if you paid nothing.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, puts the service or other users at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
You can stop using the service and close your organisation's account at any time by emailing admin@seerconsult.com. We record the closure date, which starts the 7-year retention period.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
